Frequently Asked Questions

What is your fee for service?

Fee for service is compensation paid to the entertainer for the investment of time, labor and materials necessary to guarantee the successful outcome of your event. We are more than happy to provide a price quote once you have provided us with key details about your event including date, time, location and type of event.

How many hours of service do you provide?

Contracted service hours for the entertainer are based on the estimated arrival time of the first guest and concludes at the time specified by the client but not to exceed the time specified by the facility.

What is your experience?

Your entertainer has worked as a musical host and emcee since 1984. We have performed at numerous locations throughout Southern and Northern California and Las Vegas.  Events have included wedding receptions, anniversary parties, birthdays, retirement parties, school dances, award dinners, class reunions, theme parties, Sweet 16's, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and a myriad of others.

Who selects the music for our event?

Ideally, the selection of music comes from multiple sources. First, the client has primary say in the choice of music. Second, the musical host will use his expertise and add to the clients song list based on the perceived needs of the event. Last, guests are welcomed to make additional requests. The entertainer is aware that some clients have little or no interest in selecting music for the event. If this is the case, the musical host will make appropriate selections and take requests.

Are we expected to provide a meal for the entertainer?

There is no expectation that a meal be provided for the entertainer.

What attire do you wear to an event?

The client make the decision regarding attire for the entertainer by specifying which option listed on the entertainment contract is preferred. The options are formal (tuxedo), dressy (shirt-tie-dress slacks-dress shoes) or informal (casual-neat). Formal attire is standard attire for most events.

How do you describe your style as an entertainer?

The style of performance is middle-of-the-road. We are proactive, without being obnoxious, if the party needs a boost.  If things are working well we don’t interfere.  We are not overly chatty, other than to make appropriate introductions and announcements.

Do you have a back-up sound system?

A fully operational back-up sound system is available upon request.

Do you use an assistant at events?

An assistant is only used when the complexity of the event necessitates it.

Do you have verifiable references?

References are available upon request.  Please feel free to give them a call.

Are we able to observe you working at another event?

For privacy reasons I am not able to invite prospective clients to watch me at work at another event. This is a courtesy extended to all clients and will be extended to you if you decide to book with me. I strongly suggest prospective clients contact my referral sources listed on this web site as well as review testimonials taken from recent client satisfaction surveys also found on this web site.

Do you provide a service contract?

All clients wishing to hire DJ Celebrations for their event will be provided an entertainment contract which stipulates the details of the event as well as terms and conditions of service. A mutually signed contract by the entertainer and the client is a requirement for booking to occur.

Are we able to meet with you before a booking occurs?

A pre-hire interview is important and strongly encouraged.
